My first 3 poems on AP site

Snowy Owl

Snowy owl

It's a frozen waste land
Nothing around for miles
Only the darkness surrounds
us as we stand there in silence.
Feeling the cold breeze that softly
blows over our faces and bare hands.

We came in search of the snowy owl
It has it's home in the old barn.
It's an eerie spooky atmosphere
with a black moonless sky.
Tommy screams, as he runs away.
Yelling I'll come back during the day.

I continued walking towards the big tree.
Wondering if the owl would be there.
I switched on my flashlight.
The snow glistens in the beam of the white light
I saw red berries centered in the green leaves.
I moved forward, with my light upon the branches
There I saw the owl watching me.
