another contest poem from a few years ago
IF YOU'D ONLY REALIZE
Foolish Games' (my own poem for the song)
If You'd Only Realize
Foolish Games"
IF YOU'D ONLY REALIZE
It seems I no longer know you.
Now you're so cold and distant
I can't get past the mask you use
There is no reaction to the things I do
As your will and heart are resistant.
On the outside, you are living a lie
You've hidden your emotions from view
I look at the outward appearance
And want to ask you why.
But your new reality let me see through.
Cloaked in an air of mystery
With your eyes dark looking like glass
seems appearance is important to you
Trying to be the center of attention clearly
Of the people as they begin to pass.
But standing there that way
You just couldn't notice me
The one who gave you my all
Yet you never acknowledged what I'd say
If only you'd realize we could be happy.
But these things you do are shredding me
I'm not sure why you like to do this
You are so different from our first date
With the mind games you've broken my sanity
Your words are empty like the promise.
Every morning begins the same way.
Love and light hearted feelings
As we share coffee and doughnuts
We read the paper and prepare for the day
So what is different in the evenings?

inside stormy eyes
inside stormy eyes
filled with torrential rains
my eyes, dark and dreary
no love in me remains
my voice muted
by the winds and storms
that swirl inside and about me
creating shadowy forms
filling my mind
with fears of what will be
along the path, I'm on
and where it'll take me
the wastelands
out in the wastelands
all I can see as I go.
is just hot dry sand
trails of snakes across the dry ground
and the cactus plants standing tall,
are the only hints of life at all
as the wind makes an eerie sound.
A place of my own
I began to plan my new reality.
working long strenuous days
never time for any fun.
pinching my pennies every day
to buy myself a new home.
long hours and sweat and tears
I finally found the right house one day
Getting the key in my hand
I entered in and lost my breath
For it was like walking back into history
to a place far away, and to another land.
so much to see and explore
with all the ornate and eerie things
some cloaked with sheets and plastic
behind each and every door
I have lived here for a lot of years
investing my time and money
slowly getting things done
ignoring the harsh things I'd hear.

used their own propaganda
to make assumptions to warp and twist
the truth to fit their personal agenda
By creating deceiving timelines
of when this world truly began
believing that this planet's surface defines
how the life we see didn't begin with man.
Announcing the world is billions of years old.
Thinking canyons were formed slowly from the weather
when times the temperatures weren't as cold.
However, their lies don't fit well together.
Saying dinosaurs roamed here long before human.
Molecules began growing, that's how ape came about
with time, slowly evolving and turning into a caveman
spouting lies to brainwash us and leave no room for doubt.
If evolution was actually how life here got its start.
wouldn't we still be evolving improving becoming better?
Evolution would never end and we'd never fall apart.
Wouldn't we live in harmony here forever?
Their views can't explain how we are perfectly designed
they think Darwin's theory was the golden rule.
but they can't answer without clouding the mind
exposing how they're actually the fools.
They have no answers for our features
how they have such intricate details.
signs of God's creation is in each creature.
Whatever humans try to create eventually fails..
Time was made for people here on earth
to give us ways of knowing how long each day is,
tracking our lives from conception to birth
finally how death is the end of each one of us.
God took a day for each part of Creation
to show us we shouldn't work forever
but to take part of life for fun and recreation.
and spend time with Him resting together.

I believe in micro and macroevolution. Where life had to learn to adapt to new places and situations. like in the deserts or rainforests animals are equipped to suit their surrounding.

The Mask I Wear *2*
The Mask I Wear *2*

Though my problems I can't truly explain.
I constructed these walls to hide my pains
to replace the countless tears I cried.
Now all my tears remain dried.
I WEAR A MASK for each problem I face.
So people never see a hint or trace
of the difficulties and sorrows, I hide.
Those things I keep buried inside.
I wear the mask even though it's not real.
For it is the only way I'm able to deal
with the way, people act towards me.
I just pretend to always be happy.
Sometimes it hurts to get through a day.
If I don't respond then I'm not sure what to say
I struggle with the pains in everything I do.
Please understand I still appreciate you.
