hopeville

a note from my husband in 2019

another dedication for me

from a member on allpoetry. about my memories of my dad and who I became

Poetic identity

written for me a few years ago by a member on allpoetry. I was chatting with him about my mother. and why I write my poetry.

another contest poem from a few years ago

 IF YOU'D ONLY REALIZE

Foolish Games' (my own poem for the song)

If You'd Only Realize
Foolish Games"

IF YOU'D ONLY REALIZE

It seems I no longer know you.
Now you're so cold and distant
I can't get past the mask you use
There is no reaction to the things I do
As your will and heart are resistant.

On the outside, you are living a lie
You've hidden your emotions from view
I look at the outward appearance
And want to ask you why.
But your new reality let me see through.

Cloaked in an air of mystery
With your eyes dark looking like glass
seems appearance is important to you
Trying to be the center of attention clearly
Of the people as they begin to pass.

But standing there that way
You just couldn't notice me
The one who gave you my all
Yet you never acknowledged what I'd say
If only you'd realize we could be happy.

But these things you do are shredding me
I'm not sure why you like to do this
You are so different from our first date
With the mind games you've broken my sanity
Your words are empty like the promise.

Every morning begins the same way.
Love and light hearted feelings
As we share coffee and doughnuts
We read the paper and prepare for the day
So what is different in the evenings?
