The Best Is Yet To Come

Jesus, thank You for sacrificing Yourself so that we may be forgiven our sins and made worthy to spend eternity with You in paradise. We thank You for the serenity this brings us. Knowing we’ll soon spend eternity at your knee is the greatest blessing we could ever receive. Our lives are so short and the best is yet to come.

A woman was diagnosed with a terminal illness and given three months to live. She asked her Pastor to come to her home to discuss her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at her funeral, and what scriptures she wanted read, and which outfit she wanted to be buried in.
Then she said, “One more thing… I want to be buried with a fork in my hand.”
The pastor was surprised.
The woman explained, “In all my years of attending church socials and potluck dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably say to everyone, ‘Keep your fork.’ It was my favorite time of the dinner, because I knew something better was coming, like velvety chocolate cake or deep dish apple pie – something wonderful. So, I want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and wonder, ‘ What’s with the fork?’ Then, I want you to tell them, ‘ Keep your fork, because the best is yet to come.’ “
The pastor’s eyes welled up with tears of joy as he bid the woman goodbye. He realized she had a better grasp of heaven than he did, and knew something better was coming.
At the funeral, when people asked him why she was holding a fork, the pastor told them of the conversation he had with the woman before she died. He said he could not stop thinking about the fork, and knew they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either. He was right.
“Keep your fork. The best is yet to come.”

I'm getting some things done since my daughter left. Not as much as I should but my energy and my will to work hard are at an all time low.

a bit about me first

I have another blog with my writer's screen name and have some poetry and stories there. As well as a facebook and myspace page.  I'm also in listia and pintrest  I have youtube pages with this screen name and my first one.
With my original screen name poetbjc64 I have a prayer link as well.
  I'm a wife  (Met each other Nov 17 1986 got married Feb  29,1988) ,
I'm a mother ( both my kids are now grown and living on their own becoming what they are meant to be in life , successful) ,
and a poet / writer. ( I've been writing for most of my life. Sharing certain things for people I've written poetry for the person's specific points in life)
I've just finished my new novel and plan on publishing  it as soon as I can afford it.  It might take a bit longer than I had hoped because of my present situation.  I pray I can though. As it would be really nice to be able to be my own boss and continue exploring and expanding my imagination and reality in life. To wake up the world to what is there and then stir the emotions and imagination of my readers.
Once I can publish a novel or 2 then I hope to be able to publish a book of my best poetry that others have felt stir their souls or ease their pains and speak for them when they couldn't do it on their own.
my testimony speaks it all for me.

The first part of it is in the link beginning of  the updated piece of it.

I've lived through hells and joys and loads of miracles so my emotions and experiences have opened avenues to show peace and comfort, tears and laughter. I can also share God and my faith through my writing as well.
